2 arrested for arson in fire at Wichita Chicken

Eyewitness News has learned the names of two people arrested in connection with a fire at a northeast Wichita restaurant are 21-year-old Ali Taraq Hadi and 25-year-old Tareo Hadi Hadi.

According to the Sedgwick County booking sheets, both Hadi's were arrested on Tuesday for arson in connection with the fire at Wichita Chicken, 1305 N. Hillside.

Both men were booked into the Sedgwick County jail where they remain.

The Wichita Fire Department is investigating an overnight business fire as arson.

The fire came out around 2:33 a.m. at Wichita Chicken, 1305 N. Hillside.

Crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the building. They went defensive on the fire quickly because of the structural integrity roof.

The fire caused about $200,000 in damage. No one was hurt.

The fire department says two people were arrested in the case.
