A toasty Tuesday with lots of steam

By  |

Meteorologist Mark Larson says our storm chances will wind-down but temps will rise Tuesday and Wednesday followed by brief heat relief and more, 'comfortable' temps, Thursday.

Temperatures will soar back into the low to mid 90s Tuesday afternoon with sunny skies west and scattered clouds east. Higher humidity will make it feel much hotter, especially over central and eastern Kansas where the heat index will be close to 105 at times later in the day.

Isolated showers or storms could clip parts of northeastern Kansas late tonight into Wednesday morning but most of the state will be dry.

Look for mostly sunny skies Wednesday as a weak cold front will slides through our area. Behind the front highs will fall back into the low to mid 80s across northern Kansas while the southeast sees one more day around 90 degrees. The front could also spark a few spotty showers or storms south of Wichita tomorrow afternoon.

Wednesday's front will also push some of the humidity out of Kansas Thursday and Friday offering some brief heat relief but warmer temps and sticky conditions will return this weekend.
