Wichita attractions, hotspots for your day off from the NCAA games

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Thousands of basketball fans are in Wichita to watch their favorite teams compete in the NCAA tournament.


Games will be played on Thursday and Saturday leaving fans a free Friday to enjoy the air capital city.

Visit Wichita compiled a checklist of things to do including the Mid-American All Indian Center and the Keeper of the Plains along the Arkansas River, watching the flowers bloom at Botanica, finding the beauty in art at the Wichita Art Museum or uncovering the past the Museum of World Treasures.

Families might enjoy the animals at the Sedgwick County Zoo (where you can get in for $5 with your NCAA ticket stub) or Tanganyika Wildlife Park. Those with a mind for science can take a trip to Exploration Place.

Of course, there's plenty of opportunities for bar-hopping and nightlife in Old Town. Plus, several events in and around the arena specifically created to keep fans busy and entertained.
