WICHITA, Kan. By the end of 2019, the Phoenix Business Journal reports, American Airlines will start flying directly to Phoenix from New Orleans, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Wichita.

The report says the flights will operate on a daily, but seasonal basis, debuting on Dec. 18 and the Wichita flight will continue operating until May 6, 2020. For Wichita, it says these flights will be on a Bombardier CRJ-900 jet, seating between 76 and 79 people, including 12 first-class seats.

"Adding the seasonal flights from the Midwest is expected to lure more tourists to Arizona seeking to escape the winter weather," the report from the Phoenix Business Journal says.
