Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that extremely hot temperatures will be around again Friday and Saturday. However, an approaching cold front will arrive Saturday night and finally bring an end to our hottest week of the year.
Skies will be clear overnight with lows in the 70s. Gusty winds from the south will continue and they will be back again Friday. Highs will once again be up around 100, but feel much hotter with the humidity.
Saturday will still be hot with highs near 100, but a cold front enters northwest Kansas by Saturday evening and will bring a chance for storms heading into the night. Much of the area will have mostly cloudy skies and storm chances Sunday. That should provide heat relief for the area.
