Animals rescued from hoarding situation need new homes

WICHITA -Kan. (KWCH) Several rescue groups in Wichita took in animals taken from an animal hoarding situation in Bel Aire Monday.

Beauties and Beasts is caring for 10 cats and 10 dogs.

Volunteers say they were well-cared for, and will be ready for adoption in a few weeks. They say the animals are a variety of sizes, breeds and personalities.

"I think we do have dogs and cats that are social that would fit well into an active, busy home with kids, with other pets," says Beauties and Beasts board member Jennifer Sanders. "And then we may have a couple that may be best fit only animal for an older retired couple who may not be as active, and one of those animals would fit perfectly in that home as well."

Many of the animals are currently in foster homes, receiving social and veterinary care.

Wichita Animal Action League and Wichita Animal Shelter are also assisting, and have animals available for adoption.
