Arrest made in April shooting death of Wichita man

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita police arrested a 27-year-old man in connection to a deadly shooting in April.

Police say someone called 911 around 8:40 p.m. April 1 after hearing gunshots in the 1200 block of N. Minnesota.

Officers arrived on the scene to find 23-year-old Marquez Hutton outside a home with a gunshot wound. He died on the scene from his injuries.

With the help of the United States Marshals Service, police were able to find Malcolm Norris of Valley Center in Texas.

Norris was arrested and extradited back to Wichita where he was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

The case has been presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.
