One killed, one critically hurt in south Wichita motorcycle crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) A motorcycle crash in S. Wichita leaves one man dead, another in critical condition.

Emergency crews were called to the junction of I-135 and K-15 at around 10:30 p.m., Sunday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says two people were on a motorcycle headed south when it struck a wall. The passenger was thrown from the motorcycle. KHP says the driver and the motorcycle then slid around a quarter-mile.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. KHP identifies him as 45-year-old Christopher Monk of Wichita. The driver, a 29-year-old from Wichita, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a Wichita hospital for treatment.

KHP says the men were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
