Great Bend police investigate Walmart bomb threat

GREAT BEND, Kan. (KWCH) Monday, August 19, 2019

Great Bend Police say they are still investigating after a bomb threat that led store officials to evacuate the local Walmart.

According to the police report, someone called Walmart on Sunday and stated there was a bomb in the store, then the caller hung up.

Wal-Mart evacuated all employees and customers from the building.

Once everyone was out and away from the building, officers from the Great Bend Police Department searched the building and no explosive devices were found.

Authorities have evacuated a Walmart in Great Bend Sunday.

Barton County dispatchers did not release any other information. They are asking the public to stay away from the area.
