The "game" uses a disturbing Avatar called "Momo" a disturbing piece of artwork created by Japanese artist Midori Hayshi, but she is in no way related to the dangerous game.

The "Momo" challenge starts when people add their numbers on WhatsApp. "Momo" begins sending "players" violent images, then tells users they have to follow certain "orders" and threatens to release personal information about the person if they don't.

Authorities in Argentina say the "Momo" challenge may have resulted in the suicide of a 12-year-old girl.

"Momo" is similar to the "Blue Whale" which resulted in hundreds of teen deaths in Russia.

Two girls were sentenced to decades in a mental institution in the deadly stabbing of their friend in the "Slender Man". They were all 12-years-old at the time of the murder.
