RICHMOND, Va. (CNN) Authorities in Richmond, Virginia say a baby girl died after being left inside a hot car Tuesday.
The child was reportedly left in the vehicle while the adult she was with shopped for groceries.
the car was then driven to a house in south Richmond, which is where emergency crews were called.
The child, believed to be ten months old, was in cardiac arrest and died on the way to the hospital.
According to the group www.noheatstrokedot.org, which tracks pediatric vehicular heatstroke deaths, the baby is the 21st child to die after being left in a hot car this year.
