WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Volunteers raised more than $800 today to help fund a reward for information on Lucas Hernandez's disappearance.
They held a bake sale in downtown Wichita on Saturday afternoon. The organizer says she felt like she wasn't doing enough to help in the search for Lucas. So, she decided to host a bake sale to help fund a reward.
"I wanted to do the bake sale because I was tired of feeling like I wasn't doing enough for Lucas you know and in the end, we just want to come together as a community and help find him. You know it's a tragic thing when a five year old boy goes missing especially from your area," says Alexandria Rodriguez.
Rodriguez says she lives a half mile from Lucas' home. Though she doesn't know the family, she says it hits close to home.
