Bethany College takes over Lindsborg's Swedish Crown restaurant

LINDSBORG, Kan. A longtime staple in Lindsborg reopens Tuesday night with a new owner: Bethany College.

In Lindsborg, the Swedish Crown restaurant has been a staple of the downtown community for more than 50 years. It closed in February before reopening under the new ownership.

Specifically, Sodexo, Bethany College's food service, runs the restaurant. Operations Manager Natalie Nelson says the new ownership is a great way to bridge the gap between the community and the college.

"We're working with the college, so that if students have a meal plan at the school, there's a bonus meal plan they can use to come and eat here every so often," Nelson says.

Nelson is also starting to hire Bethany College students to work at the Swedish Crown.

The restaurant's official grand opening will happen in late August once all Bethany students return to campus.
