Man's body found in Arkansas River in west Wichita

UPDATE: Wichita police say it was a man's body who was found in the Arkansas River. He was in his 30s.

They say someone walking by the river saw the body and called 911.

There are no visible signs of trauma on the man's body. Police removed the man's body from the river and crews are examining the body, working to identify the man.

In the early stages of the investigation, police are also trying to determine if the man drowned or if there was another cause of death and how long he was in the water.

Emergency crews are in the area of Lincoln and McLean where a body has been found in the Arkansas River.

911 dispatchers say they don't know the gender or age of the person at this time.

They also say no vehicle was found with the body.
