Police identify body found near Haysville as that of missing Wichita woman

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has identified the body found south of Haysville on Saturday as 23-year-old Savannah Schneider of Wichita. Schneider was located by citizens who formed a search group to look for her.

WPD investigators are currently working with the Regional Forensic Science Center to determine the circumstances of her death.

Schneider was last seen on Sunday, May 31, at her home in the 10300 block of West Alamo.

Sedgwick County dispatchers said Saturday a body has been found near Haysville.

Dispatchers said the body was located near the railroad tracks between 87th and 79th to the East of Meridian.

Volunteers were searching the area Saturday morning for clues in

. She is visually impaired, unable to drive and was last seen at her Wichita home on Sunday, May 31.

At this time, no identification has been given on the body.

Eyewitness News has a crew on the scene to gather more information.
