Boeing is poised to lose its place as the world's largest plane maker to Airbus.

The Wall Street Journal reports Boeing deliveries fell by more than a third in the first half of 2019. The company reported orders for just 13 commercial jets last quarter.

That's a steep drop from the same time last year, when Boeing reported 277 orders.

Boeing's 737 Max planes have been grounded since March after two deadly crashes.

Boeing is still working on a software fix for that plane, which the FAA must approve before it can fly again.

Spirit workers in Wichita build parts of those planes.

You may remember, that company shortened its work week last month for certain employees working on commercial airplanes to help cut costs, temporarily.
