Bright but brisk Friday

By  |

Meteorologist Mark Larson we'll get a chance to thaw-out through the weekend but gusty winds will take some of the fun out of the warmer temperatures Saturday and Sunday.

Friday will be bright but brisk with highs in the upper 20s and lower 30s under a sunny sky. Winds will shift to the south over western Kansas where gusts could top 20 mph later in the day.

Expect gusty southerly winds statewide Saturday pushing temperatures back above 40 degrees, under a partly cloudy, sky but the stiff breeze will make it feel more like the low to mid 30s tomorrow. Sunday we'll see more clouds but i'll be dry with highs around 40 degrees and lighter winds.

A fast-moving weather-maker will plow out into the Plains Monday bringing our next chance for rain and snow but that system won't be nearly as messy as the one that recently pounded Kansas.
