Calif. man arrested after 155 pounds of marijuana found on Neb. traffic stop

A Friday evening traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Lexington, Neb. leads to the discovery of 155 pounds of marijuana and 439 THC vape cartridges.

The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers arrested a 27-year-old Michael Banks, of San Bernadino, Calif. for possession of marijuana -- more than one pound, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp.

At about 5:10 p.m. Friday, the state patrol says a trooper observed an Infinity QX60 traveling eastbound at 98 mph on I-80 near Lexington at mile marker 237. This is about 324 miles north of Wichita.

"The trooper became suspicious of criminal activity," the Nebraska State Patrol says.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the combination of the marijuana and THC vape cartridges carries an estimated street value of more than $500,000.
