Local government, most Kansas universities open Dec. 5

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) While Wednesday, Dec. 5 has been declared a national holiday and Day of Mourning in observance of the death of former President George H.W. Bush, several government offices across Kansas will remain open.

CLOSED: State of Kansas Offices

CLOSED: United States Postal Service

The City of Wichita says it joins the nation in mourning the passing of the 41st president, but its offices will remain open.

Sedgwick County offices will also be open and proceed with its regularly scheduled county commission meeting.

Wichita State University announced it would be closed for the day. We know the University of Kansas, Kansas State and Emporia State will be open and classes will proceed as normal.
