WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The City of Wichita said it's ready for winter weather.
Director of Public Works Alan King said on Thursday his department deployed all 60 trucks to treat roads ahead of flurries and snow.
King said this is precautionary.
He said trucks are just doing a light dusting right now. The rain makes it difficult and washes off the salt and sand mix.
King said all 1,500 miles of priority routes are being treated.
He said crews will cut back if weather models change or if it looks like it will just be rain.
Storm Team 12 says Wichita remains on the edge of the rain-snow mix line. Our meteorologists say they expect the switchover to happen around the evening rush hour.
