Commanders thank students for effort to spread holiday cheer to airmen overseas

WICHITA, Kan. A group of students in west Wichita Tuesday received a special visit from commanders at McConnell Air Force Base, there to thank the students for helping to brighten the holidays for 200 airmen.

Before Christmas, the students at Wichita's Faith Academy packed stockings for the airmen. Tuesday, some of those stocking recipients stopped by the school to show their gratitude.

The students gathered items like notepads pens and treats and sent off the stockings before Thanksgiving. Tuesday, the airmen at Faith Academy gave the students a flag that flew over Qatar where the gifts' recipients were stationed.
