Cooler weather on the horizon

Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that summer continues to be very stubborn, but cooler temperatures should make an appearance by the end of the week. Storm chances will also be increasing for the area.

Skies will remain mostly clear into the night. Lows will dip down into the 60s with south winds. Highs Wednesday will be back around 90 for much of the state, but northwest Kansas does cool down a bit with 80s on the way.

A few storms will be possible near the Kansas/Nebraska line Wednesday after dark.

Thursday will have storms chances in western Kansas with central and eastern Kansas seeing the storm chance by Friday evening.
