Court documents detail cases in Colo., Kan. against Hays rape suspect

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. Court documents from Arapahoe County, Colo. detail further information about a man being called a serial rapist and connected with crimes in Colorado and Hays.

Twenty-four-year-old Tre Carrasco is currently held at an Arapahoe County, Colo. jail, accused of multiple thefts, burglaries and sexual assaults. Last month's string of crimes began with the Feb. 3 rape of a woman in a neighborhood near Fort Hays State University and concluded with a Feb. 12 sexual assault and burglary in Cherry Hills Village Colo. where police say he forced his way into a home and sexually assaulted a woman.

This followed his Feb. 1 release from the Ellis County Jail.

In the Feb. 3 crime, the Ellis County attorney says Carrasco attacked a 19-year-old woman he didn't know.

Court documents released Thursday (March 8) detail evidence connecting Carrasco to last month's string of crimes in Hays and Colorado and shed more light on his extensive criminal history going back about eight years.

Court records show when Carrasco was 16 in 2011, he was convicted on multiple charges including aggravated sexual battery and causing great bodily harm with a weapon. During his time in prison, records show he was cited more than a dozen times for disobeying orders, having dangerous contraband and intoxication.

The newly released documents include 66 points that detail the scope of Carrasco's criminal activity including new and previous charges.
