HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) If you traveled north on I-135 from Wichita Tuesday, you probably experienced a delay due to a Tuesday morning semi crash near the Sedgwick/Harvey County line.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a semi carrying cattle rolled in the northbound lanes of I-135 just south of Newton shortly before 6 a.m.
Two callers said the semi swerved, hit the ditch and rolled.
We're told several cattle died in the crash. Animal Control has spent most of the day trying to round up the rest of the animals.
No humans were hurt.
The crash involving the cattle was the first of three crashes within the same area. Within an area of about three miles on the interstate, two other crashes followed the semi rollover Tuesday.
In one of these crashes between 101st and 125th Streets North and I-135, four people were injured, including one critically. In a third crash, one person received minor injuries.
