Update: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman killed in a crash southeast of Wichita early Saturday morning as 18-year-old Kylie Love of Rose Hill.

Deputies found a green 1999 Toyota Camry in the 15300 block of E. 71st Street South at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. They say the Camry was headed west when it went off the road, struck a culvert and crashed into a tree.

Love, who was driving the Camry, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old male passenger from Derby was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office says the crash remains under investigation, and at this time, there is no reason to believe alcohol was involved.

Authorities believe speed and alcohol were factors in an early morning crash that left an 18-year-old woman dead, and a 16-year-old hospitalized.

Emergency crews were called to 143rd Street East and Meadowlark at around 2:40 Saturday morning.

There, they found two teens pinned inside a vehicle that had crashed.

The fire department was able to get them out, but the 18-year-old who was driving was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her 16-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but he is expected to recover.

No other vehicles were involved.
