WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The man convicted of killing a woman and setting her home on fire will spend at least 30 years in prison.
A Judge sentenced Dane Wright on Friday morning for killing 36-year-old Reyona Caldwell.
In June, Caldwell was found dead inside a home on North Ash in Wichita.
Firefighters were responding to a house fire when they found Caldwell who had been bludgeoned and the fire intentionally set.
Wright left the scene with three children triggering an Amber Alert. They were all later found at a motel on South Broadway.
Caldwell's mother and sister read statements on Friday during Wright's hearing.
"I think this is something a mother should know, how to protect their children, but I didn't and I have to live with that," said her mother.
"It's been, I don't know, like a rollercoaster really," said Caldwell's Kameko. "Like I said, you never thought something like this would happen and when it does, it puts you through all kinds of emotions."
Wright will be eligible for parole in about 30 years.
