Dangerous heat continues

Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that hot weather will be a part of our forecast into the start of the weekend. Please pay attention for signs of heat illness and avoid long exposure if possible.

A few evening storms will die out in western Kansas with mostly clear skies through the overnight. Lows will be in the 70s with south winds. It looks windy again Thursday with sunshine and highs just above 100. Heat indices will climb to 105+ in many areas of central and eastern Kansas.

More dangerous heat will arrive for Friday and Saturday with highs near 100. We do expect a cold front to move in for Sunday, dropping temperatures and bringing a chance for widely scattered rain and storms.
