Storm Team 12 Meteorologist Mark Larson says summer sizzle and steam will be back for Kansas to start our week and storm chances will also return soon.
Look for mostly sunny skies Monday with highs in the mid to upper 90s, but it will feel more like 100-108° when you factor in the humidity. Stay hydrated this afternoon and take care to avoid heat related health issues.
Dangerous afternoon heat indices will stick around through Tuesday, with afternoon highs around 100° making it the hottest day of the week.
A weak cold front is expected to sink into our state from the north Tuesday night. The front will bring shower and storm chances to folks north of I-70 overnight. The slow moving front will most likely stall-out across parts of central Kansas Wednesday bringing more, off and on showers and storms, especially overnight.
Highs north of the stalled or, stationary, front will fall into the 80s while areas closer to the Oklahoma state line will stay in the low to mid 90s Wednesday and Thursday.
