WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Students at Coleman Middle School learned about the automotive industry during Dream Keepers STEM Day Wednesday.
Seventh graders had the chance to do some hands-on activities that teachers say, is designed to introduce them to possible careers in the auto industry.
"I learned all about cars and the car materials and all that. I am learning more about the engine," said Travon Johnson, seventh-grader at Coleman Middle School.
Organizers say the event is for students to learn about opportunities in other career fields.
"We want to expand their horizons, allow them to dream big and achieve big. If they don’t know what they want, they probably won’t get it," said Jon Belsan, teacher at Coleman Middle School.
This is the last of four STEM days that occurred this year at Coleman including aviation, electronics and public utilities.
