Dodge City man arrested for impersonating law enforcement officer

DODGE CITY, Kan. (KWCH) An 18-year-old man is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer by using emergency lights on his vehicle to stop another driver in Dodge City.

The Ford County Sheriff's Office says around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle that had pulled over a car.

Witnesses identified the suspect vehicle as an older model Crown Victoria with a temporary license plate which did not match any law enforcement vehicles.

The Crown Victoria was found near the Ford/Gray county line on Highway 50. Deputies pulled over the car and arrested the man for false impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

The case is expected to be turned over to the Ford Count Attorney's Office for review.
