Small plane crashes in Valley Center
Four people were involved in a small plane crash in Valley Center Sunday.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. in the area of W 85th St N and N Seneca St.
Lloyd Newman, the Public Safety Director for Police and Fire, says the plane crossed over 85th street and then touched down again in the field behind the Valley Center Christian Church.
Church members say Sunday services were over and the property cleared when they received a call from law enforcement about the accident.
"We're just getting all the details, taking all the information we can to take a report. We're waiting for the FFA to come out as well. They were taking off from a runway across the street from the field here," said Newman.
He says everyone walked away from the crash and the pilot is the only one to suffer a minor injury.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what happened.
