FactFinder Minute: Look out for social security scams

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) In this week's FactFinder Minute, FactFinder 12 warns you about recent scams involving robocalls and your social security number.

Scammers use robocalls to scare you into calling them back. They do so by leaving a voice message, threatening legal action against your social security number for criminal activities.

The message then tells you to call the number: 844-385-4339. It's all part of a scheme to steal your information.

In a similar scam out of Ellis County, a viewer says he received a call from 1-800 numbers, was tole he social security number was suspended and he needed to take action to reactivate it.
