Fall temps today, Winter temps to end the week

Meteorologist Jake Dunne says it’s another chilly morning across Kansas, but sunny skies and a stronger south wind will take temperatures into the lower and middle 70s this afternoon.

Expect even warmer weather on Wednesday before winter moves in on Thursday. Temperatures will climb into the 70s and 80s tomorrow before a powerful cold front plunges into the state. Midday temperatures in the 60s and 70s across central Kansas will plummet into the 40s and 50s during the afternoon.

It will be even colder across western Kansas and that help rain showers transition into snow showers, especially in areas along and north of I-70. Light accumulation is possible, mostly on grassy surfaces, northwest of a Garden City to Hays line.
