Family holds watermelon feed to thank son who foiled attack on his elderly parents

BARBER COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) On Sunday, the Rucker family held a watermelon feed in celebration of their son, Flint, who stopped an attack on their home one year ago on July 21, 2018.

He was delivering a watermelon to his mom and dad who live north of Medicine Lodge when he discovered a man was trying to rob and kill them.

Flint subdued the man before he caused severe injuries to his parents.

The suspect in the case, Ora Munger, pleaded not guilty to charges in Barber and Sumner counties.

He is also a suspect in a robbery case near Mayfield
