The Wichita Fire Department says an electrical malfunction inside a vehicle is to blame for a Monday night fire that caused about $150,000 damage to a vehicle-maintenance shop near Old Town.

Crews encountered heavy smoke when they arrived on the scene in the 100 block of Washington (near Douglas and Washington) a little after 7 p.m. The fire department says the fire was contained to where it started, but crews had to take extra precautions because of the amount of flammable components inside the shop.
