Ford County Sheriffs Office warns of social security scam

FORD COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) A social security scam is happening in Ford County.

Citizens are stating that they have received calls from the Social Security Administration stating:

“A lawsuit against your name the local County Sheriff are going to arrest you for serious allegations before this matter goes to the courthouse and __________ your bank account and suspend your Social Security number and get you arrested for more information regarding this case you can get back to us at (830)431-9609. I repeat (830)431-9609 make sure you give us a call back before you get arrested.”

This is a scam.

Sheriff Bill Carr has called the number provided on the scam calls and has been hung up on when pressing for information.

“Folks, please do not provide any information and most importantly do not send any money to them. Do not call them back or even entertain a conversation,” Carr urges.
