Four victims identified in Ogden house fire

OGDEN, Kan. (KWCH) The Riley County Fire Department has identified four people killed in the Ogden house fire Thursday morning.

The fire started shortly before 4 a.m. in the 200 block of Riley Ave.

Roger D. Harris Sr. Age 72, Rea E Harris age 72, Roger D Harris Jr. 50 and Rocky Newell age 55 died from smoke inhalation, according to an autopsy report.

Several firefighters were injured after falling on ice and a paramedic suffered smoke inhalation.

The preliminary investigation shows the fire may have started in a downstairs couch, but they are still trying to pinpoint the cause. Careless smoking is suspected.
