Fundraiser for World War II History Center held at new gun range at El Dorado Lake

EL DORADO, Kan. (KWCH) A fundraiser for the World War II History Center was held Saturday at the new gun range at El Dorado Lake.

The WWII Weapons Shoot allowed people to shoot rifles and pistols from all sides used during WWII.

For only $1 a round, people got to fire actual American, British, Russian, German, Italian, French, or Japanese weapons, safely supervised on the range.

Attendees said it was a great opportunity to go back and learn about history.

"All the firearms here are actually WWII firearms, so it's the real real deal," said one person. "They're not reproductions, they're not props, they're the real firearms."

Historians were on-site to talk about the firearms and instructors to oversee how to safely operate and fire them.
