Girl Scout cookie season kicks off

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Sales of Girl Scout cookies kicked off Saturday in Kansas.

The cookies are sold to help the Girl Scouts get an important taste of what it takes to be successful.

100 percent of the proceeds from the Cookie Program stay local.

"Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, cookie customers help fund life-changing Girl Scout experiences while building the next generation of female entrepreneurs," said GSUSA CEO Sylvia Acevedo.

Girl Scouts who participate in the cookie program this season will have the opportunity to win the Cookie Entrepreneur Experience of a lifetime featuring the DC Super Hero Girls by entering the Cookie Pro™ contest.
