'God is blessing me': Wichita woman expecting baby after battling cancer
A Wichita woman is two months away from having a baby she never thought she'd have.
Kyla Kruse found out she was pregnant while she was working at Two Brothers Barbecue. A moment she say, she'll never forget.
Kruse was diagnosed with Ewing's Saracoma, a rare form of cancer, in March 2017. She was just 19-years-old. wao
After more than a year of treatment, doctors told Kruse her cancer was gone.
Kruse was worried her chance of being a mother was gone too until she found out she was expecting a daughter.
"A weight had lifted off my shoulders, I felt it was obviously my second chance at life," Kruse said.
Kruse says one week, a manager paid for a family's meals. Then a few days later, those same customers paid it forward.
"She told me what she was gonna do. She could get me my baby carrier because we hadn't gotten ours yet, " Kruse said. "She called me and told me we raised enough money to get the carrier and had more donations coming."
The good Samaritan raised more than $500 for Kruse. She says she can't believe how her life has turned around since her cancer diagnosis.
"That reminds me of the fact that god is blessing me and with not only my child but even more with people like Ashley that would come into my life and continue to bless me in ways I never thought possible."
