Tre Miekale Carrasco

An arrest affidavit released Thursday reveals new details about the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a rape in Hays.

Police arrested 23-year-old Tre Carrasco this week in Aurora, Colorado after they say he committed a series of crimes in the area.

According to the affidavit, it started last Thursday when Aurora police say Carrasco approached a woman as she left the gym.

As she got in the car, he caught the door and told her to scoot over. When said "please let me out" police say he told her "scoot over or i'll kill you".

Once he was in the car, police say she was able to get out of the passenger side door despite him trying to grab her. She believed he wanted not only the car but to take her with him.

On Monday, officers spotted the car but he fled when officers tried to make a traffic stop. The next day, the Aurora swat team found the car again and made a high risk stop.

Investigators say Carrasco was driving and another man was in the passenger seat.

Aurora police say they had been contacted by the Hays Police Department earlier in the month about Carrasco possibly in the area.
