Holiday festivities around the Wichita area

(KWCH) If you are looking for something to do to celebrate the holidays, there are several events you can go to throughout the Wichita area.

▪️ Friends University Christmas Concert
Time: December 6, 7, and 8 at 2 p,m.
Location: Friends University
Cost: Adults $16, seniors and students $12
Friends University choirs will perform their Christmas Candlelight Concert on three dates this season.

▪️ A SmorgasChorus Christmas
Time: Saturday, December 7 from 7 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.
Location: SmorgasChorus, 1221 N Webb Road,
Cost: Adult general admission $13 and youth general admission $6

▪️ El Dorado Tree Lighting
Time: Saturday, December 7 at 6:15 p.m.
Location: 205 W. Central Ave, El Dorado
The folks in El Dorado, Kansas will hold their tree lighting as part of an all-day fun event.

▪️ Winter Wonderland Breakfast with Santa at Mulvane Rec
Time: Saturday, December 7 from 8 a.m.- 11 a.m.
Location: $5.00
A traditional breakfast will be served. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for purchase through Clix Photography.

▪️ College Hill Christmas Lights Tour
Time: December 7 and 8 from 5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m.
Location: East Heights United Methodist Church (corner of Douglas and Crestway)
Cost: Tickets are $10 per person with a $40 per family maximum, and kids 3 and under are free.
This family-friendly affair will include live music, carolers, treats, prizes, live nativity, and a beautiful tour of the College Hill neighborhood lights.

Time: Sunday, December 8 from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m.
Location: Central Christian Church-Wichita. 3900 north Rock Rd

▪️ College Hill Christmas Lights Tours
Time: December 7 and 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Location: East Heights UMC, 4407 E Douglas Ave, Wichita
Cost: Tickets are $10 per person with a $40 per family maximum (kids 3 and under are free), and will be available to purchase in person on December 2 at Traditions (3220 E Douglas Ave) or online starting December 3.
This family-friendly affair will include live music, carolers, treats, prizes, live nativity (Sunday only), and a beautiful tour of our College Hill lights.

▪️ Andover Tree Lighting
Time:Thursday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Andover Central Park, 1607 E Central Ave
Cost: Free
Andover Central Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland with luminaries, lighted trees, and live music, and fun activities for everyone.

▪️ A Night with Santa in Haysville
Time: Friday, December 13 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m.
Location: 200 S. Main St. Haysville, KS 67060
Cost: Free
Haysville Recreation has invited Santa to visit and enjoy a festive holiday evening with kids and families. Get a picture with Santa, ride on a horse-drawn carriage, and cookies.

Time: Saturday, December 14 from 3:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.
Location: McAdams Recreation Center, 1329 east 13th St North
Cost: Free

▪️ Pictures with Santa and Live Reindeer
Time: Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: Titan Med Center, 1415 W 31st St S
Cost: $10 per picture with proceeds to Miracles
Come and get pictures taken with Santa Claus and his live reindeer. (Call 316-529-3700 to reserve your space.)

Time: Saturday, December 14 from 6- 10 p.m.
Location: Fairmount Park
Cost: Free

▪️ Santa’s Wonderland at Cabela’s and Free Photo with Santa
Time: November 16- December 24 from 5:30 p.m.- 8 p.m.
Location: 2427 N Greenwich Rd
Cost: Free
Santa’s Wonderland is the ultimate free family Christmas event returning to Cabela’s this holiday season. There will be lots of activities available including free photo opps with Santa and free family holiday activities including fun crafts and games.

▪️ The Arc’s Lights
Time: November 28- December 28, Sundays through Thursdays: 5:30-9 p.m. (Extended to 10 p.m. on Dec. 19, 22, and 23), Fridays and Saturdays: 5:30-10 p.m., Christmas Eve: 5:30-11 p.m.
Location: The Arc of Sedgwick County, 2919 W 2nd St N,
Cost: Admission is a $10 per carload donation.

▪️ Botanica Illuminations
Time: November 29 - January 4 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Botanica, 701 Amidon St
Illuminations is Wichita’s premier light display taking place every year at Botanica. With more than two million lights, the community is invited to tour themed gardens, hear live music and visit with Santa.
Cost: Tickets are $12 for adults. $8 for members, military & youth. Children ages 2 and under are free.

▪️ Breakfast with Santa at Chick-Fil-A
Time: Saturday, December 14 from 8 a.m.- 10 a.m.
Come see Santa and get a free professional photo taken, plus feel free to take your own photos too. Hang out with a couple of North Pole Cows and make a fun craft.

▪️ Lighted Christmas Parade
Time: Saturday, December 14 from 6:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.
Location: Main Street between 17th & 10th Avenues
Cost: Free
Bring the family downtown on Saturday, December 14th to watch beautifully lit floats go down Main Street in Winfield. This year's theme is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."

▪️ Christmas in the Park – Derby
Time: Saturday, December 14 from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. (NOTE: There will be a shuttle service from Derby Middle School stadium parking lot starting at 10 a.m. and running until 7:15 p.m.)
Location: Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E Madison Ave
This new family-friendly event features horse drawn carriages, holiday themed inflatables, petting zoo, reindeer, pictures with Santa and much more.

Time: Thursday, December 19 from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Location: Calvary’s Rock Church, 2661 S Meridian Ave
Cost: Free

▪️ Prairie Rose Chuckwagon: Christmas on the Prairie
Time: November 29 - December 22
Location: Prairie Rose Chuckwagon, 15231 SW Parallel St, Benton
Cost: All shows are $35 +tax for adults and $10 +tax for kids 3-12, under 3 are free RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED
For their final season of wholesome family entertainment, you can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides (weather permitting), classic Christmas movies, hot chocolate, and popcorn.

▪️ A Country Christmas Holiday at Fulton Valley Farms
Time: November 29 - December 22 (Weekly on Sunday, Friday, and Saturday at 6 p.m.-9 p.m.)
Location: Fulton Valley Farms, 5079 SW Fulton Rd, Towanda, Kansas
Cost: General admission to 'A Country Christmas' is $5 per person, and kids age 3 and younger get in free.
Take a horse drawn sleigh ride and stroll the wooded paths while enjoying over 250,000 lights dancing to music.

▪️ Gingerbread House Decorating Event
Time: Saturday, December 21 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Location: The Center Church, 3700 East Mount Vernon
Cost: Free
Each family will be given one gingerbread house to decorate together and take home. Come and enjoy friends, family, and live holiday music/entertainment. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be making an appearance for pictures.

Time: Sunday, December 22 from 5 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.
Location: 1914 E. 11th St. BLDG B
Cost: Free
Toy giveaway, holiday craft stations, free hot coca and popcorn. The first 300 people get a free gift.

▪️ Cookies with Santa
Time: Monday, December 23 from 6:30 p.m.– 8 p.m.
Location: South YMCA, 3405 south Meridian Ave
Cost: Free
Bring your kiddo to meet Santa at this free community event. There will be crafts, hot coca, photo opp, and cookies.
