Hutchinson K-9 assists officers in drug arrests

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) The Hutchinson Police Department made a drug arrest on Tuesday thanks in part to one of its K-9s.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. 1st Ave for suspicious activity around 8:42 a.m.

While officers were investigating, K9 Tank was deployed and alerted officers to the suspect vehicle. A search was conducted on the vehicle and the officers seized 2.6 ounces of methamphetamine, 7.5 grams of heroin, 43.6 grams of marijuana dabs, and a firearm,

Officers arrested two individuals on numerous drug charges from this incident.

"This is another example of where teamwork between the community and Law Enforcement has taken illegal drugs off our streets," said police.
