Hutchinson man sentenced to life for shooting sleeping man

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH/SALINA POST) A Hutchinson man has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting a man while he was sleeping.

The Salina Post reports Judge Tim Chambers sentenced 35-year-old Quinton Moore Friday afternoon in a Reno County courtroom.

Moore was convicted of shooting 42-year-old Clarence D. Allen multiple times while he slept in his bed at a 1700 block of east 30th in Hutchinson.

The newspaper reports Moore admitted to shooting Allen. Moore had been Allen’s on-again-off-again roommate.

He won’t be eligible for parole for 51 ½ years.
