I-70 reopens at Hays as winter weather conditions improve

The Kansas Department of Transportation says I-70 has been reopened at Hays. US-24, US-40 and K-27 have also been reopened.

8:35 p.m.

The Kansas Department of Transportation closes westbound I-70 at Hays due to winter-weather conditions in Colorado. Westbound U.S. 24 at Colby, westbound U.S. 40 at Sharon Springs and northbound K-27 at Sharon Springs are also closed.

4:38 p.m.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed westbound I-70 at Colby because of winter weather conditions in Colorado. Westbound U.S. 24 at Colby is also closed.

3:15 p.m.

The Kansas Department of Transportation will close westbound I-70 at Goodland at 3:30 p.m. CDT because of winter weather conditions in Colorado.

A strong cold front will rip through our state tonight bringing winter-like temperatures back to Kansas Friday. Look for light snow or flurries to pass through northwest Kansas tonight, but significant accumulations are not expected.
