The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating after crews pulled a body from a sand pit Tuesday.
Sedgwick County Sheriff's Captain Brad Hoch says passerby spotted the body at the sandpit and reported the discovery about 4;30 p.m. near 63rd Street South and Broadway.
Hoch says the Sedgwick County Fire Department helped to retrieve the body from the sandpit. Hoch couldn't say how long the body was in the sandpit, but he did say it had been there "awhile" and this"wasn't something they think happened today."
