Jackknifed semi diverts turnpike traffic at El Dorado

EL DORADO, Kan. Update:

The Kansas Turnpike is back open in both directions following a semi rollover crash Wednesday evening near El Dorado.



Southbound traffic is back open on the shoulder, but crews remain on scene to clear the crash. The Kansas Turnpike Authority says the semi's driver was transported to an area hospital with injuries.


Traffic on the Kansas Turnpike is diverted in El Dorodo due to a jackknifed semi.

El Dorado police advise drivers to stay off Boyer Road north of K-254, off of Sixth Street between Boyer and Main and off of Main Street north of Sixth Street.

"It's a mess, boys and girls," the El Dorado Police Department says in a post on its Facebook page.
