WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The newest member of the Newman University basketball team is11-year-old Julian Randle.
He loves basketball but a rare autoimmune disease makes it hard for him to play the game.
Thanks to the non-profit team impact - Randle got to sign his letter of intent to be a part of the team.
"I's a joy because he's wanted this for the last five years and as his parents, as his mom, i was concerned with him playing because he would get sick but for him to have his own team this is awesome," says Latoya Randle.
Team Impact matches children who have life-threatening or chronic illnesses with collegiate sports teams.
As a member of the team, Randle will attend practices, all home games, and some away games.
