Kansas Senator Barbara Bollier announces bid for US Senate

MISSION HILLS, Kan. (KWCH) A new name is added to the list of candidates for the U.S. Senate seat.

State Senator Barbara Bollier of Mission Hills announced Wednesday she is joining the field that is looking to replace retiring Republican Pat Roberts.

Bollier defected from the Republican party last year and is running as a Democrat this year.

She joins federal prosecutor Barry Grissom, Manhattan mayor pro tem Usha Reddi and Robert Tillman in the democratic field.

Republican contenders include former Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Congressman Roger Marshall and State Senate President Susan Wagle.
