Kingman Chamber of Commerce closed, police reviewing financial records

KINGMAN, Kan. (KWCH) The Kingman Police Department says it received a request from the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce to conduct a financial review of the chamber's records.

Eyewitness News went to Kingman and found a note on the chamber's door stating the office was temporarily closed and seeking to fill the vacant position of the Executive Director.

In the Facebook post quoted below, the chamber said it cannot comment on personnel matters or any pending investigation:

"We understand there is interest by our members and the public regarding recent reports of contact between the Chamber and law enforcement. We cannot comment on personnel matters or any pending investigation. We can, however, assure you that we remain focused on our members and the growth of the business community in the Kingman area. The Chamber board is working diligently to provide services and benefits to our members. We appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from the Kingman community and look forward to growing with it in the future."

The police department says the review remains ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
